Board Meeting, Thursday, December 13th:

The minutes of the Board Meeting on Thursday, December 13th have been circulated.

Possible twinning with RC Thimphu, Bhutan:

Emma Slade suggested that the Club might consider twinning with RC Thimphu in Bhutan.    After some discussion it was decided to put to the Club that an informal approach to the President of RC Thimphu be made to explore possibilities without any sort of commitment at this stage.   Andrew B. would welcome feed back via email to andrew_strode@hotmail.co.uk from all members of the club on the merits (or not) of this association. Andrew has indicated to Emma Slade that we would consider this over the next few months. Be aware that having this facility in place would not affect our association with Opening Your Hearts to Bhutan but might of course influence RC Thimphu going forward.

Club Pick-up Points:

Following the Christmas Collection it was suggested that the Club organize pick-up points where tools for TWAM, clothing and other items for Catching Lives and mobility aids can be collected throughout the year and stored awaiting pick up.     Jean and Andrew  and Pippa and Spyros have very kindly agreed to take in and store items for these collections.   It was also suggested and agreed that the facility should be publicized in Whitstable and Herne Bay as well as in Chestfield.    David M. put a proposal to the Club which was seconded by Pat and agreed.

Christmas Collection:

Ian had delivered parcels of food to some needy families in Whitstable and passed on their thanks.     This led to a discussion as to the division of food collected at Christmas between the food bank and parcels for needy families.   There are people in Whitstable who will not admit that they are in need and will not go to the food bank.     It was felt that such families deserve help but how much is given to them and how much to the food bank has to dependson how much food is collected.      Sue made an appeal for more help in packing up the food on the day after the collection and it was agreed that a form should be put in the folder next year.

Wednesday, December 19th – Parish Carol Service:

Davids M. and K. helped out at the Parish gathering after the Carol Service but serving mulled wine and mince pies.    Steve Bailey, Chairman of Chestfield Parish Council, sent his best wishes and thanks to the Club.

Sunday, December 23rd – Car Parking  at Whitstable:
