Multitasking:

As President Pat is sunning herself in Portugal, President-elect Sue took the meeting and, in the absence, of Paul also said Grace.

Sarah Street:

Best wishes to Sarah who has now moved to Cornwall.    Sue has Sarah’s address if anyone would like to make contact with her.

Saturday, February 23rd – Robert and Gill Sissons Puglian Dinner:

Congratulations to Robert and Gill whose dinner in aid of Shelterboxes was very much enjoyed by everyone who took part and it raised enough to buy another Shelterbox bringing to nine the total purchased by the Club in the past year.

Sunday, February 24th – Car Parking at Whitstable:

The car parking on February 24th was very successful and raised £435.81 from parking and £17.50 from the stall.      Sadly, Jean M. had an unfortunate episode with an aggressive and abusive driver which emphasizes the need to have at least two people on the main gate.    Jean was given some advice on a possible response but is thought unlikely to take it.

Saturday, March 16th – Car Parking at Whitstable:

Please sign up if you can help.   There is a form in the folder.

Thursday, March 21st – Evening Dinner:

There will be no breakfast meeting on Thursday, March 21st as there will be an evening dinner in the Golf Club at 7.00 for 7.30 pm when the speaker will be Ron on the Great Deception (there will be mention of Brexit!).     The menu will be slow roast belly of pork followed by apple crumble, tea and coffee at a cost of £17.50 per person.     Please let Godfrey know if anyone would like a vegetarian option.     This will be a regular meeting of the Club so everyone is expected to attend unless they send Godfrey their apologies as usual.   However, please sign up on the form in the folder especially if you are bringing a guest.

Saturday, March 24th – RC Herne Bay Race Night:

It is hoped that the Club can organize a table of eight and there is a form in the folder.

Friday, March 29th – Table Tennis Challenge Evening:

This will be a good time for a bit of practice before we take on Dutch in June.    There is a form in the folder so please sign-up.

Saturday, April 6th – RC Forest of Blean Concert in the Cathedral:

RC Canterbury Forest of Blean are organizing a concert by the London Welsh  Male Voice Choir in the Cathedral on Saturday, April 6th.      A  number of nave seats are available to Rotarians at a discounted price of £20.00.   Please contact lesandsueleslie@gmail.com as soon as possible if you would like to take advantage of the offer.

Saturday, April 27th – TWAM Collection:

Please note that the times for the collection at Stocks, Cromwell Road, Whitstable are 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.    Please help if you can.    Jean M. asked that everyone watch out for people moving as they are usually a good source of unwanted tools.

Thursday, May 9th –Celebrate the 15th Anniversary of the Club:

This year sees the 15th Anniversary of the Club and on Thursday, May 9th there will be a celebration dinner at 7.00 for 7.30 pm as usual when the speaker will be David Bowley on the his nefarious adventures in North America.    The menu will be a starter of duck liver pate, a main course of roast chicken and a dessert of lemon posset at a cost of £20.50 per person.    If anyone would like a vegetarian option please contact Godfrey.     There will be no breakfast that day and everyone is expected to attend unless apologies are sent to Godfrey as usual.    However, as the capacity of the Golf Club is limited and nearly all past presidents will be there David and Godfrey need to know numbers and guests likely to attend by mid-March.

Sunday, May 26th – Car Parking at Whitstable and Stroke Awareness Day:

Stroke Awareness Day will take place with car parking on Sunday, May 26th.  Sue needs volunteers and equipment to take blood pressures.
