Minutes of the Meeting

Held on Thursday, April 4th 2019

                                             At The Golf Club, Chestfield

John Graham:

            John is recuperating after some surgical procedures and will not be at a        meeting for a while.    Everyone sent him their best wishes for a swift   recovery.

Congratulations:

            Congratulations to Elaine, Andrew and Pat who all had grandchildren             during the week.

Raffle Prizes:

            Raffle prizes are almost exhausted and there is an urgent need for some       more as soon as possible.

Friday, March 29th – Table Tennis Challenge Evening:

The Table Tennis Evening was a great success.

Sunday, April 7th – Chestfield Village Litter Pick:

Chestfield Parish Council are organizing a litter pick on Sunday, April 7th meeting on the Play Park on Chestfield Road at 10.30 am.     If you can help please promote the Club by wearing your Rotary clothing and hi-viz jackets if you have them; the Parish Council will provide hi-viz jackets if not.

Sunday, April 14th – Car Parking at Whitstable and Stroke Awareness Day:

There should be enough help for car but Sue would grateful for help in taking blood pressures.

Tuesday, April 23rd – Raid on RC Sandwich:

A raid has been organised on  RC Sandwich which meets for dinner at the Bell Hotel, Sandwich at 7.00 for 7.30 pm at a cost of £15.00 per head.    Eight have signed up so far.   There is a form in the folder so please make this a date in your diary and sign up.

Saturday, April 27th – TWAM Collection:

Please note that the times for the collection at Stocks, Cromwell Road, Whitstable are 9.00 am to 1.00 pm.    The number of volunteers should be sufficient if no one drops out.

Thursday, May 9th – 15th Anniversary Dinner:

Forty-eight have signed up so far with a maximum capacity of fifty-six.

Saturday, May 18th – Gardening at the Whitstable and Tankerton Hospital:

There will be gardening at the Whit and Tank on Saturday, May 18th meeting at the hospital at 9.30 am.    Only one person has signed up so far so please sign up if you can help.

Tuesday, May 28th - Lawn Bowls Taster Afternoon: 

There will be a second lawn bowls taster afternoon on May 28th.  There is a form in the folder and eight have signed up.

Friday, June 7th to Sunday, June 9th – Visit from Apeldoorn:

At the moment Andrew B. is expecting twelve visitors from Apeldoorn.   He would welcome suggestions for a venue for brunch on Sunday, June 9th.

Saturday, June 15th – Barn Dance:

So far 31 have signed up for the Barn Dance and there is a need to push the sale of tickets as strongly as possible.

Sunday, June 23rd – Samba Band

On Sunday, June 23rd the Samba Band will be doing another seaside walk from Whitstable with a stop at Seaview Caravan Park for a BBQ.     Help is needed to

collect donations and there will be a form in the folder.

Saturday, July 27th - Murder Mystery Evening:

Eleven are signed up so far.    The evening is filling up quickly so sign up soon.

Visitors and Greetings:

Hilary brought greeting from RC Minster on Sea.

Raffle:

Andrew B. won a bottle of prosecco.

Master of Alms:

Nick was at it again.
