Golspie Primary & RotaKids Club Beach Clean

.

At Golspie Primary School pupils have been thinking about our local environment and especially the amount of plastic that is thrown away and litters our beaches and seas.  Prompted by their president (Bailey Grant), the Golspie Rotakids decided to head down to the local beach and give it a good cleaning.  After a talk about what was safe to collect and what should be reported to an adult, five bags of plastic debris and other litter were collected up – along with a number of interesting items including a golf club and a car mat.  Although generally litter free, pupils were surprised at the amount of rubbish they collected after a stroll from the pier back towards the school!
