President Dave talks to Oswestry U3A - Memorial Hall, Oswestry

Tue, Jun 5th 2018 at 10:00 am - 11:30 am

President Dave gave a presentation to Oswestry U3A's meeting this morning about Oswestry Rotary Club and some of the things we do throughout the year - teachers never lose it!

At 10.30 promptly, the meeting of Oswestry's U3A group fell silent as the lights dimmed and Dave Davies commenced his 50 minute presentation to their members describing the activities of Oswestry Rotary Club during a typical year.

It seemed that his fears about filling the allocated slot were groundless as he talked, as only a teacher can, to the crowd of 60 or more prompted by a PowerPoint presentation to illustrate the 'lecture'.

Difficulties operating the PowerPoint with the pointer meant that the videos planned could not be shown but Dave overcame that hiccup and finished to comments of "That was really interesting.  I didn't know that so much went on in Oswestry!" and other appreciative words.

A positive impression made, Dave gratefully received a speaker fee (which will be banked into the Club's Charity Account), accepted the offer of one of the U3A members who wished to be involved with our Mock Interviews at The Marches and sold a DVD copy of Rtn Brian Lort's memories of flying Sutherlands in WWII.

A good morning's work!
