A brief look at our year as it unfolds starting with the Presidential Handover from David to Anna

OUR YEAR -

OUR YEAR - Garden Party at Donnington House Residential Care Home to support the residents and their families celebrate its very own Platinum Jubilee.

OUR YEAR - Founder member Peter gave a very amusing and entertaining account of his life to date. Not once did he mention his Little Willy!

OUR YEAR - 12 months ago this area was just an overgrown waste area at the school. Members cleared the area and created a few raised beds and the pupils have done the rest . A truly wonderful transformation.

OUR YEAR - We receive a call for help from a single Mum who was struggling to maintain her garden in a safe manner for her youngster . Geoff answered the plea and this is what he found.

OUR YEAR - Christopher spoke about his start to his RAF career in 1952 and covered the period to 1959. More to come when he can be fitted into our busy Speaker schedule.

OUR YEAR - Each year we sponsor 2or 3 students to attend the District RYLA event . This year it was the turn of Hari, Samantha and Herbie to benefit from the assortment of leadership and team building exercises involved in the week long activity.

OUR YEAR - Members of the Club visited the Station in Selsey and got involved in an actual “shout” when both of the boats had to be launched to go on a rescue mission.

OUR YEAR - Members enjoyed an intensively competitive evening of Crazy Golf Putting at Hunston. The eventual winner being Mike Hopkins despite Jean Hardstaff achieving 2 hole in ones !

OUR YEAR - Our annual Macmillan raised a stonking 1353 . Well done Sue.

OUR YEAR - Members and friends enjoyed a very entertaining Treasure Hunt around Emsworth . Can’t remember who won but Tony didn’t score a point.

OUR YEAR - Barbara did a splendid job in rallying members to collect at the Cross for those in need in Pakistan following the recent extensive flooding in the Region

OUR YEAR - Each Sunday members and friends meet up for a leisurely bike round around the Chichester countryside with one stipulation that it involves a Bacon Roll

OUR YEAR - The ultimate “Rotarian” who fully embodied the Service Above Self ethos.

OUR YEAR - Our 2nd Annual Golf Day supported by Henry Adams during which we raised 11600 for Chestnut Tree House Hospice

OUR YEAR - The Community Committee gave Club Members and Friends a comprehensive review of the extensive work being undertaken to help those most in need in our community.

OUR YEAR - DG Roger Stent and told us “We’re all doing very well “ and “what a wonderful Website the Club has ! “

OUR YEAR - We were saddened at the passing of Valerie , a founder member and our first ever lady president

OUR YEAR - David entertained the Club with a talk about his colourful life to date.

OUR YEAR - Members spent a couple of hours on the beach West Wittering. It is amazing what they found !

OUR YEAR - A well written grant application by the Club Sec to the local Police Authority was rewarded with a grant of £500

OUR YEAR - Another great team event - our annual Xmas Fayre at the Assembly Rooms in Chichester. We raised over a£1000 for our Community Projects

OUR YEAR - Raising funds proved easier than raising crocuses with a long term scam perpetrated by our very own trickster.

OUR YEAR - V2 , our local radio station came to our rescue and provided space where our Xmas sacks could be prepared

OUR YEAR - Small skittles , hard pink plastic balls and adverse weather conditions conspired to our down fall in this much delayed 2019 Semi Final match against Shepperton and Sudbury.

OUR YEAR - Rotary in Chichester planted a tree on behalf of the Community to commemorate the life of our Queen.

OUR YEAR - Away win against Bognor Hotham with Richard getting the inevitable double one to win leg one and Big Tone using his height to seal victory with a double 3 in leg 3

OUR YEAR - 5th Wednesday social at the Spur where 25 plus members enjoyed a skittles evening.

OUR YEAR - Nick had his car valeted so he could be involved in the Big Delivery which took place over a 3week period.

OUR YEAR - Our best ever day collecting at Tesco.
Over 20 boxes were filled with goodies by the generous customers of the store.
Many thanks to Tesco for not only allowing to collect but to stand inside the store on a very cold day !

OUR YEAR - The 3 Clubs in Chichester came together to enjoy a festive Carol Service.

OUR YEAR - The pots we were sold in Oct did actually have bulbs in them and they are starting to blossom beautifully !

OUR YEAR - A joint club effort raised over 3500 from a bucket collection at the Cross.

OUR YEAR - In addition to the funds raised by the street collection , the Club donated funds for a further Shelter Box to be purchased and used in Turkey

OUR YEAR - 2 officers from the local police force gave a very enlightening talk about the numerous scams that exist and how to stop becoming a victim.

OUR YEAR - Mary told us all about the wonderful tree project she is organising on the East Broyle Estate

OUR YEAR - A coach full of Rotarians and friends enjoyed a trip to visit the home of our democracy and the good news is no one was sent to the Tower

OUR YEAR - Each year we beg steal and deliver as many Easter Eggs as possible to those most in need in our community.

OUR YEAR - Ruth’s new puppy has joined the Club !

OUR YEAR - The brains of the Club - Janie , Marion , Mike and the skipper Martin successfully won its way to the final of the District Quiz Competition.

OUR YEAR - We’re not talking cricket here … The Hyde Housing Group’s latest action of kindness to the Club was a delivery of much needed clothing to support our activity at the Foodbank in Chichester

OUR YEAR - Members enjoyed a visit to the glasshouses of Vitacress in Runcton and learnt all about the production of Herbs . ( followed by the obligatory visit to a pub afterwards.)

OUR YEAR - Twice a year the Club organise a Tea Dance in conjunction with MIND West Sussex.

OUR YEAR - Every week the Club runs a Clothes Store at the Chichester Food Bank.

OUR YEAR - Each Tuesday a group of hardy hikers from the Club set off on a trek through the Sussex countryside in search of a cup of tea or something slightly stronger

OUR YEAR - Malcolm joined members of the other clubs in Chichester to undertake a clean up of the Northgate Car Park.

OUR YEAR - Major Mick gave an amusing account of his adventures aboard his boat Tintanic

OUR YEAR - Hundreds of locals received an Easter Egg from our Community Committee

OUR YEAR - Attendees at the 25th Charter Dinner were subjected to some dodgy entertainment!
