There was a Special General Meeting at the start of tonight’s meeting of the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw to confirm the President, Secretary and Treasurer for the Rotary Year 2019/20 and Andrew Murray, John McGeary and John Robson were confirmed in these respective posts.
The District Governor of Rotary District 1020, Agnes Ritchie, was our invited guest. Agnes is a member of the Rotary Club of Bathgate and her visit to Motherwell was her fifty-first Club visit of her Presidential Year.
She brought greetings from Rotary International President, Barry Rassin, who has chosen 'Be the Inspiration' as his theme for 2018-19. Agnes said that the R.I. President urges Rotary members to drive to do more, to be more, to create something that will live beyond each of us, to work for a sustainable future and to inspire each other and the community at large. He said that together, we see a world where people unite and take action to create lasting change across the globe, in our communities, and in ourselves. Agnes said that this describes the Rotary that we all must help to build.
Past President Tom Agnew proposed the vote of thanks.
The monthly numbers club draw was held with Rotarians Peter McCrossan, Des Donnelly and Andrew Murray picking up the prizes.'What We Do' Main Pages:
