Rotary Golf Day 2018

Organised by Blackburn and Clitheroe Rotary Clubs

Clan Morrison

On the 27th June approx 100 Golfers came to Pleasington Golf Club to enjoy the very dry but challenging golf course.

Last year had been cold and exceptionally wet but this year the weather was just the complete opposite - sun-kissed and very hot!
What a difference a year makes - This time we need the water “inside” and the Golfers gallons were consumed during and after the game.
This was the 17th consecutive annual golf event but only the second year when it was staged as a joint event between Blackburn and Clitheroe Rotary Clubs.
We thank Pleasington GC for allowing us to use their course, all the Sponsors and Participants for making it a very enjoyable day and also a great day raising money for East Lancs Hospice, Macmillan Nurses and Rotary Foundation..
We had 25 teams from various parts of Lancashire, Yorkshire and Manchester. But Clitheroe Rotarian, Sandy Morrison, had brought down family re-inforcements from NE Scotland and “The Clan Morrison Team” nudged Team “Surprise Package” into second place and Team “Brown Shipley” into theirs place on the basis of a better last 9 holes when all 3 teams finished on the same stableford score of 87 points.
Excellent play by all 3 teams.
