Rotary club of Stirling meeting of 1st February 2019.
President Sandy Farquharson welcomed members to a fellowship meeting at which general club topics could be discussed. Sandy reminded us that we were invited to a joint meeting with Dunblane and Br of Allan on the 28th February, when the district governor would be present. We wished Stewart Wilson well as he set off again for a five-week cycling tour of New Zealand. Our discussions were mainly on domestic club matters.
Should we abandon the top table, allowing the President to sit amongst the members at different tables each week, which received general approval. Following our recent very successful Thursday evening meeting when we were able to have a longer talk from a particularly interesting speaker on the subject of Nelson Mandela, it was suggested that we could repeat this when appropriate. The general feeling was that we could, from time to time, but that Friday lunch time would remain our regular slot.
Next week 8th February Speaker's host Gordon Murphy, Visitor's host Jan Anderson.
