Between 5.00 and 6.00 pm beginners have opportunity for rapid tuition by the course professional.
From 5.30 the teams will be convened - normally one proper golfer per team.
From 6.00 there will be a scambled start (this means that teams start from different holes on the course)
Non golfers and golfers drift in to the Downe Arms say 7.30 to 8.00 pm

Sawdon Classic Golf Competition
Venue:- Snainton Golf Centre
Format:- Texas Scramble with a ‘sting’.
9 Hole Scratch Medal Round
Shot gun start( tee number on card)
Times:- 17.00 Optional Golf Clinic
18.00 Prompt Golf start time.
Competition rules:
1. All players will be off scratch.
2. Each player will in turn strike a marked ball off the tee.Any ball coming to rest on the Green cannot be used to play second shot.
3. The team will select the ball sited on the spot they choose to use for the playing of the next shot other than a ball on the green.
4. The player whose ball is chosen will NOT play the shot, leaving it to the partners to each take a turn.
5. This pattern of selection and method of playing always excluding the owner of the chosen ball will continue until the ball is holed.
6. Record the gross score on the card.
7. Proceed to the next hole and play as set out above until the round is completed.
