A Calendar for Cockermouth
To help boost the Georgian town of Cockermouth the Rotary Club has produced a glossy calendar for 2019 And the club is already working on a calendar for 2020.
With almost 80 years association with the town, Cockermouth Rotary Club and its latest president, Joe Fagan, thought it would be a great idea to offer a calendar that captuted some of images of what makes our Cockermouth a great place to live. The glossy large format calendar features full colour pictures for every month of the coming year. And as well as helping local charities the club hope the calendars will make great presents for distant relatives and friends, perhaps reminding them to 'come back home soon.'
The calendars which cost £7.50 each can be purchased at the following outlets: Banks Ironmongers, Strolling for Shoes, Percy House Gallery, the New Bookshop, and the Swan Inn.
Joe Fagan this year's Rotary Club President said:
"It is with great pride that the club has produced a 2019 calendar dedicated to our vibrant, picturesque gem town and some of its many independent businesses.
The production of this calendar was only made possible by the excellent photographic artwork donated by our members and residents of the town. Cockermouth Rotary has been in existence since 1938 and in our 79th year we are still fully committed to serving our community. All money raised from the sale of these calendars will go to Rotary charities.
On behalf of Cockermouth Rotary I would like to thank you for supporting our fundraising efforts."
LATEST: After Taste Christmas in the town December 8-9 2018 Rotarian Andy Carter said: "A big thanks you to all those who bought the new calendars to the tune of £600....it was great to see the enthusiasm for the calendars."
