Mirfield Agricultural Show

Mirfield Rotary acting to reduce the risk of strokes and heart disease

Mirfield Rotary Club have long supported this most deserving of community events. Whilst hiring a stall gives financial income to the event, the club has also provided an award for one of the handicraft competitions.

This year the club has focussed its efforts in using our members clinical skills to take people's blood pressure. Identifying raised blood pressure and advising people of the need to seek advice from their GP is the single most beneficial fact in modifying people's health and reducing the chances of stroke and heart disease.

Members also took the opportunity to raise the club's profile and advising people of our activities in the town. Hopefully our actions on the day will encourage others to join us in giving help to people far less priviledged than ourselves.
