POLIO ERADICATION

Back in 1979, Rotary started a campaign to rid the world of polio.

Rotary International has raised billions of dollars and given untold hours of Rotarian personal time, working with governments, WHO and the Bill Gates Foundation. It has been hard work, but polio is now endemic in only two countries worldwide – a fantastic achievement, and we hope to totally eradicate the dread disease within the next decade.
