Kingsbridge Amateur Theatrical Society (KATS) is delighted to have been successful in winning a grant award of £750 from Kingsbridge Estuary Rotary Club, which combined with £500 from the Locality Fund, has enabled it to buy six new LED lighting bars. It is now compliant with upcoming EU regulations on low emission lights, as well as giving it much more versatility in its stage lighting effects. This is a very exciting development for KATS: it can now ditch the old lights which threw out tremendous heat on stage, and the actors can relax without fear of their make-up melting.
Over the last three years Kingsbridge Estuary Rotary has donated a total of £10,000 to 30 local clubs, schools, and organisations that help those requiring various types of assistance. This is through the Club’s Community Support Grant scheme. Typically, the grant money has gone towards equipment, facilities and special events. The grant funds come from donations generously given by Kingsbridge and surrounding community. Estuary Rotary members are very pleased to have provided this support, and to have helped KATS to purchase its low emission lights.
