Rotary Club Lunch Meeting

Fri, Nov 30th 2018 at 12:45 pm - 2:00 pm

We meet as usual for lunch, immediately after which we will hold the 2018 Special General Meeting of our Club. Papers for this meeting are now available via links on this page.

The 10.. Special General Meeting of the Club will be held after lunch. On the agenda will be the election of Club Officers (President, Secretary and Treasurer) for the 2019/2020 Rotary year. In the past two years, we have had great difficulties in finding members prepared to be President and Secretary of the Club.

To avoid a similar situation at this year's SGM, members are urged before the meeting to give serious consideration as to whether they are able and prepared to take on these responsibilities. Failing anybody coming forward, members should be prepared to consider alternative scenarios. e.g. shared responsibilities or even closure of the Club.

Notice of this meeting was published in the October/November 2018 edition of the Club WEBxtracts leaflet, which was circulated to all Club members.

In accordance with Bye-law 7, clause 2, of the standard R.I.B.I. Club Bye-laws (see below), at about 1.40pm on this day we will hold the Club's 2018 Special General Meeting.
The purposes of the meeting are for the
(i) receiving and approving the examined annual accounts for the year ended 30th June.
(ii) electing by ballot of the members the President for the next year but one
(iii) electing the President -elect and President Nominee, secretary and treasurer for the next Rotary year.
(iv) electing two voting delegates to vote at the ensuing Annual Conference of the Association.
Nominations for President, President-elect, President Nominee, Secretary and Treasurer are invited. If you are willing to stand, please tell Bill Dunlop.
