Rotary Club Christmas Lunch

Thu, Dec 20th 2018 at 12:45 pm - 3:00 pm

We met for our annual Christmas luncheon, a highlight of our Rotary year, when we enjoy food and friendship as well as making donations to some of the local charities whose work we are supporting.

Our Christmas lunch today was attended by nearly 50 people including the Lord Mayor and Lady Mayoress of the City and representatives of Newcastle Vision Support, Maggies' Centre and The People Kitchen, all of which are organisations whose work we have supported for several years. The traditional Christmas message was delivered by our friend, Jaeuk Park, from South Korea. Jaeuk was formerly a student at Newcastle University and is now working in Leeds. He has had a connection  with our Club for several years.

As usual, The New Kent provided an excellent meal which was enjoyed by all.

The following cheques were presneted: £2,050 to Newcastle Vision Support, £500 to Maggies Centre and £250 to The Peoples Kitchen.
