Princes Risborough Tree of Light breaks all records
Good weather on Sunday 25 November encouraged a large crowd to attend the Dedication Ceremony for the Princes Risborough Tree of Light. This year’s dedications have set a new record and it is expected that the money from donations will be similarly outstanding.
The event is organised by Princes Risborough Rotary Club, together with Rennie Grove Hospice Care, and it has grown steadily in importance to the town over the last 10 years.
The Ceremony was as usual led by the Reverend James Tomkins and the lights were switched on by the Town Major, Councillor Matthew Walsh. Music was provided by Risborough Choral Society.
Rotary President Richard Stevenson said that the Tree of Light is now established as a much loved activity in the build up to Christmas and the numbers attending the Dedication Ceremony emphasise how much local people appreciate the opportunity to reflect on the lives of their loved ones in a welcoming and dignified environment.
