Inner Wheel Bridge Day 11 October 2019
On a rather cloudy morning in October, Taunton Vale Inner Wheel welcomed 62 Bridge players to West Monkton Village Hall. The food in the kitchen was so much more colourful than the grey day! The event was organised by our co Presidents Cheryl and Ruth, as any profits will go STAR, the Charity for their year in office.
Pictured are (l/r Joint president Cheryl, Anne Chidgey, Joint Preesident Ruth and our Director for the day, Lesley Garner).
Ably supported by Inner Wheel members who donated food, and their time to prepare and serve the food to our guests, the day went very well indeed. The raffle was a hit and the food genuinely appreciated by the guests, many of whom called in to the Kitchen to compliment the ladies on their buffet; one even gave them 11 out of 10!
Please don't forget what this was all about- STAR
STAR , Somerset Trust for Arts and Recreation, supports children and young people in Somerset aged 5-25, who because of their life situations can end up isolated and feeling left out. Working with third party providers, STAR gives these young people life experiences which they will not otherwise afford to expand their horizons and hopefully help to change their lives. This needs funding! Please look at www.somerset-star.org.uk for further information or to make a donation.
The financial outcome? £1,048:60 for STAR. Well done everyone.
