Changing lives – one smile at a time

Presentation from each of Peter Tivy-Jones, Nanette Tivy-Jones and Anna Chambley about their organisation Northern Cleft Foundation (NCF)

Changing lives – one  smile at a time!

On Tuesday 20th November 2018, 24 Rotarians plus their friends and guests dined at the Cae Mor Hotel (next to Venue Cymru) prior to hearing a presentation from each of Peter Tivy-Jones, Nanette Tivy-Jones and Anna Chambley about their organisation Northern Cleft Foundation (NCF).

NCF exists to help bring hope to just a small fraction of the 25,000- 30,000 people a year in India who are born with either a cleft lip, a cleft palate - or both - by sending a team of voluntary medics and ancilliaries to India to perform life-changing operations, mainly  on children

The three speakers were part of an overall team of 60 who flew out to India last year, at their own expense, to work with the Rotary Club of Nagpur West on a week-long 8am to 6pm clinic, with double operating theatres

This work has been going on since 2001 and full details of their impressive story appears here http://www.northerncleftfoundation.co.uk/our-story/

Rotarians Margaret Trevette and Chris drew thanked the team for their presentation and for the work they are doing
