Club Meeting — District Governor

District Governor Jim Ross attended the club lunch and spoke about the challenges facing rotary clubs.


President Mike Jane welcomed eleven other members, and special guest District Governor Jim Ross from the Dunoon club.

Alastair Wilson provided final details for next week's trip to Alicante, and Reay Mackay announced that he had erected the club plaque beside the front door of the Yacht Club. The Primary 7 Quiz trophy will be presented to winners Arrochar Primary School at the school on Thursday morning.

The District Governor told of the need for the membership of District 1230 to reach 1,100 by 2020, otherwise it would be merged with another Scottish district. Some 30 more members are required. He also urged the club to consider seeking a Rotary Citation for achieving its objectives.

The president propsed the vote of thanks, and presented Jim with a Helensburgh club pennant. The club was presented with the RI 'Be The Inspiration' pennant.

The weekly raffle for a whisky miniature was won by Ron Dunachie.
