Honorary Member Recounts his years in Rotary

At a recent meeting the speaker was  Bill Lakie  who joined Arbroath Rotary in 1964, is a Past President and Paul Harris Fellow. He  recounted his years in Rotary and how Rotary was formed in Chicago in 1905, our club being Chartered on the 17th November 1926 following an initial meeting in Soutar's Rooms in Arbroath on 9th September 1926.

He gave examples of previous fundraising activities including daffodil sales, Tri Am and the many social activities. His attendance at District and National Conferences and meeting so many wonderful people over the years. He encouraged new members to get involved by taking on roles and participating in club activities.

At the same meeting President Ian inducted  new member Lisbeth McEwan whose mentor is Alison Stedman into the club and asked members to assist her as she gets more involved in Rotary.
