No5 Youth Counselling

Providing free support to young people aged 10-25 in the Reading area with mental health problems and other challenging circumstances.

To support their core counselling services during this time of unprecedented demand No 5 would like to offer some creative group work. Doing this will mean they can reach more young people, more quickly and help them to support each other. The pilot workshop will involve 8 young people and will focus upon developing creativity which has been shown to improve confidence, relationships, communication, self-expression and the relief of stress and anxiety. It will also focus on the challenges of lockdown and isolation and the associated consequences young people are experiencing. Each group (8 Participants) will have 10 workshop sessions with the final two sessions focusing upon reflective practice to embed the learning from the previous sessions. Outcome measures have been developed mixing both quantitative and qualitative measures. Rotary District 1090 provided a Peace Grant of £940 which our club has matched. The £1880 will pay for the first Pilot Project.
