Young Musician Competition - Area Round

The Area 4 Rotary Young Musician competition hosted by RCCB was held on Monday 21st January at Whitchurch  High School. Seven Area 4 Clubs sponsored four Vocal and six Instrumental competitors.We were fortunate to have a group of professional highly qualified adjudicators,Christiana Mavron/Bob Codd/Daniel Trodden for the Instrumental competition and Elizabeth Phillips/Rhiannon Williams/Ieuan Jones for the Vocal Competition.The standard of all the performances was judged to be very high.The winners were, Vocal, Katherine Macaulay (sponsored by R C of Dinas Powis and Dan Andrews, a trombonist (sponsored by RC Cardiff Breakfast). Dan and Katherine now go forward to the District Final on Saturday 9th March at Islwyn High School Blackwood NP12 ONU. Vocal competition at 1.30 pm, Instrumental 5 pm.
