RIC '06 - Suffolk, June 2006
In June 2006 we were the hosts to RIC (Rotary International Club), and welcomed Rotarians from our fellow clubs in Holland, Germany, France, Belgium and Poland. After a Welcome Dinner at the Bull Hotel in Woodbridge, we were treated to a concert of baroque and popular classics by an excellent duo on Flute and Harp in the historic Shire Hall. Outside the Old Tide Mill by the river at Woodbridge, we had a display of old English Morris Dancing. The magnificent old South Elmham Minster hosted our AGM and lunch after our visit to the Dairy Farm, which makes its own ice-cream - we tasted it in its natural state, - completely free of additives and flavouring.
The AGM involved a presentation by next year's hosts - we are told we will come away with an improved knowledge of French impressionist painting. That part of France is where it all began.
We celebrated with a splendid Gala Dinner in the magnificent setting of The Refectory at Framlingham College; including our notorious “Camel" Race and "Tops and Tails" games to raise a little extra cash for charity.
