The Dido Belle Intergenerational Project

Dido Elizabeth Belle

After the success of Fern Meets Dido – The Musical in Croydon (October 2018), Sing a Book brings Dido Belle to Lewisham as part of the Festival of Creative Ageing.  We are looking for members of the community aged 7 – 16  and 55+ to be part of another brand new musical featuring Dido Belle, one of the first Black aristocrats from the 18th century.  We are also calling on support from local businesses for sponsorship and support the project in any form.

The Festival of Creative Ageing is over three weeks from 13th September and 6th October 2019.  The Dido Project will demonstrate how the power of the arts brings all ages within the community together working for a common goal, while celebrating the contributions Black historical characters made to British history.

The Dido Project will take place at Goldsmiths Community Centre, Catford from 5th August – 30th August and will deliver workshops to develop skills in drama, dance and singing in preparation for performances on 13th and 14th September.  This is a community project and we encourage all contributions to the script and choreography from everyone involved.

If you want to be part of a brand new musical, leave your details in contact and we will be in touch!
