The evening was attended by representatives from eight of the twelve organisations who took part in the competition. The crocus displays had been judged by Malcolm Greenhalgh, Newton Gardeners' Association who presented a cheque for £100 to the winning organisation, Penkford School.
A raffle raised £143, the proceeds of which will be donated to the Rotary Foundation end Polio Campaign.
The first prize was a £50 voucher for Arietes Italian Restaurant which had been kindly donated by their manager.
This was an excellent opportunity for each organisation to network and share their community plans for the comiing year in addition to raise awareness of the polio eradication programme.
