Purple 4 Polio evening at Themes Restaurant

Until COVID-19 prevented this activity the Club had started holding a yearly Purple 4 Polio Meal at Hafren College Catering Restaurant "Themes" .

An evening at Themes Restaurant was held on Tuesday 4 February 2020 to raise funds for the Purple 4 Polio cause that is Rotary's main charity.  The idea is to raise awareness of polio which is still present in some parts of the world and if not eliminated completely will return to haunt us.  Meantime we continue to need to vaccinate our children and Rotary are involved with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation to reach unvaccinated children everywhere in the world.

This is the second meal we have organised at Themes Restaurant. The Catering Staff put on a great purple themed meal and we all wear someting purple in recognition of our aim - to eliminate polio. The idea is that when children are vaccinated they have their pinkie finger painted purple to show it has been done.
