Tonight, at the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw, was our Club Assembly where the incoming President, Andrew Murray and his Committee Convenors advise members of their plans for the next Rotary year.
The evening started with Assistant District Governor, Brenda Waugh, bringing greetings from District 1020. She said the New Year’s theme would be “Rotary Connects the World” and she asked clubs to help in local Communities and beyond.
President Elect Andrew reflected on his own journey in Rotary and suggested that the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw should partner with sports and social clubs to develop community relationships that local people will identify with.
Katrina Gibbons, the new Senior Vice President expressed her hopes for a revitalised Furniture for Families project and her Committee were now working to present a programme to the members.
P.P. James Gibbons, the new International Convenor, spoke on Lend with Care which is a revolutionary way for Rotarians to help people in developing countries transform their future. By lending relatively small sums of money, the scheme enables people to find their own route out of poverty and support their families, and this project has the full backing of the members of the Rotary Club of Motherwell and Wishaw.
The winners of the monthly numbers club draw were Katrina Gibbons, Tom Agnew and Ronnie Moore.'What We Do' Main Pages:
