Coffee and Cakes in Mesnes Park in aid of Meningitis UK

Many thanks to everyone who attended the May Coffee Morning in the Park. As it was 1st May and nobody arrived until 10.45 we were beginning to be afraid that people had thought that it would be held next week, but then people came in a rush! I think there was a chara somewhere!

Thank you to the people from All Saints who couldn't attend because they were busy making sandwiches for the afternoon tea but sent their money anyway! Thanks to Rose for sending a donation with Dorothy Markland. We raised over £150 (and rising!) for Meningitis Now. Thanks also to members of the Rotary Club of Newton-le-Willows who attended and donated.

The revised total for Shorter Lives Together was £200, thanks to the generosity of one of our Dog Walkers. The charity sent us a lovely thank you letter. They had even gone to the trouble of researching Mesnes Park. That makes all the efforts worthwhile.

Our gratitude goes also to Max and Elsie who always supply us with scrumptious cakes, and to Linda for her delicious scones.

The Coffee Morning in the Park on Wednesday 5th June will be in aid of  Dementia UK, we know so many people whose lives have been touched by this awful condition. We look forward to welcoming you all to this event.
