Our speaker this evening was Jasbinda Chana who told us about
Yangsheng.

Yangsheng : The Art of Nourishing  Life

The term ‘Yangsheng’ is made up of two Chinese characters ‘Yang’ means to nourish or nurture and ‘Sheng’ is life or vitality and is roughly translated as the art of nourishing life.

The aim of Yangsheng is not solely about physical health, it’s the  integration of mind and body, bringing harmony by balancing the mental and physical and allowing a detachment of excessive emotions and creating serenity in one’s life.

From the perspective of an integrated Five Element and Traditional Chinese Medicine practitioner, the seasons and the energetics of food can play a very important role in nourishing vitality. This session looks at the how the emotions can affect those energies and how we can adopt Yangsheng practices in our lives to support ourselves through seasonal changes.
