Bexhill Caring Community

President Graham Forster, along with Past President Roger Batey, visited Bexhill Caring Community at the end of May with a cheque for £500 which was duly presented to Jackie Haggerty, Manager of the charity.

In thanking Graham and Roger, Jackie said how wonderful and generous the donation was, and how grateful she and her colleagues were for all the support given by Bexhill Rotary Club.  She added. “We really do appreciate everything you do for us.

You can be sure this donation will be put to very good use to support the wide range of services we provide.  Part of the money will be used to provide a memorable afternoon tea on 5th June at the De La Warr Pavilion for our volunteers so we can say ‘thank you’ for all the hard work that they freely put in for the charity.”

Bexhill Caring Community, based in Sackville Road in Bexhill, is a team of dedicated staff offering a multitude of valuable services for the elderly, housebound and lonely of all ages, including over 100 volunteers for shopping, visiting, sitting and home library service, plus equipment hire and form filling.  The charity, which has been awarded the coveted Queens Award for Voluntary Service, also has an approved list of self-employed outworkers for odd jobs, home help and gardening as well as general caring.  In addition, there is a Community Car Service for medical appointments as well as a Dial-A-Ride.  Day Centres complete their range of services.
