Presidential Handover

.

East Sutherland Rotary club enters its 31st Rotary year this week under the guidance of new President Peter Orrell from Rosehall.  Outgoing President Roger Boyce (something of a golf Addict!) had organised the handover at Royal Dornoch Golf Club with a super evening of fellowship and fun including a tense putting competition.  This was eventually won by new member Beatrice Somer & old hand Alistair Risk (quite remarkable as Beatrice had never used a putter before!!).  The evening was rounded off with a number of presentations - to Paddy Murray for serving as Treasurer and fund raiser extraordinaire for 8 years or more, to Fiona Risk for a very successful 10 years as Youth Chair during a time when the club has formed 7 Rotakids clubs and 2 Interact Clubs

The final presentation was of the club’s chain of office by outgoing President Roger Boyce to Peter Orrell.  So that he did not feel left out Peter handed over a host of medals and badges of recognition to Roger and thanked him for a very successful year as the clubs President including the organisation of the 30th Charter Dinner

It was a great evening and the club looks forward to many more evenings having fun to help others and to future achievements under Peter and his successors.
