District Governor Jo Pawley presented the club with an RI banner.

The theme for the year is ‘Grow Rotary’

The organisation puts a great deal into the community. Clubs are active but not attractive to potential new members.

Regrettably this has been a record year for people leaving Rotary.  Membership in some countries is increasing but in the UK, USA and Australia it is declining.

The average age of members is also increasing. He or she may be active now but what about 5 years hence?

Membership retention is a problem in district 1020. Curie Balerno is an exception to this. How do we succeed where other clubs fail? Jo Pointed out how important it was to have some sort of communication with members who missed a meeting(s) to keep them informed as to what was happening.

Clubs must make more of an impact in their communities. Tell people about Rotary, expand their reach.
