Evening meeting - Desert Island Discs

On Thursday 26th September 2019 President Ewen Macdonald welcomed 22 Club Rotarians, and 40 guests including Rotarians from the Rotary Clubs of Kirkcaldy, Leven, Buckhaven and Methil and Cupar to this our monthly evening meeting, which was held at the Gilvenbank Hotel, Glenrothes. 

On reception, this week was Geoff Sampson.

This evening at our Desert Island Discs President Ewen Macdonald handed over a cheque for £250 to John Minhinnick chairman of the Parkinson’s UK Fife branch to help with their newly opened Parkinson’s cafe in the Baptist Church in Glenrothes town centre.

Another very successful and enjoyable evening was held at our annual Desert island Discs event. Thanks to everyone who came along to support us, with special thanks also to Rotarian Malcolm Robertson for his excellent hosting interviewing skills, and the 4 castaways - our own Rotarians, Iain Oates and May Ford, Kirkcaldy Rotarian Brian Munro and Cupar Rotarian Doreen Gray who made a fun evening with a great selection of music. The event which was highly successful thanks to the organisers IPP Anne Sampson and Wilna Roger. The Raffle raised £182. Well done to the Gilvenbank Staff and the chef Steff for providing and excellent themed meal.

The Rotary Vote of thanks was given by Club President Ewen Macdonald.

This coming week’s meeting on Thursday 3rd October 2019 will be a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. please meet 12.45pm for a 12.55pm start. Our speaker this week is Agnes Whyte from Breathe Easy. On reception will be Brian Johnson with Wilna Roger giving the Rotary Vote of thanks.
