On Thursday 10th October 2019 President Ewen Macdonald welcomed 11 Club Rotarians and one guest to this our early evening casual meeting, which was held at the Gilvenbank Hotel lounge, Glenrothes.

On Wednesday past the 9th October 2019 we had our annual Gavel competition with
a 4-team challenge when we were hosts against the Rotary Clubs of Cowdenbeath,
Leven and Perth. What a great night as everybody enjoyed the fellowship and fun
organised by Geoff Sampson. The 6 games on offer during the evening were
Boggle, Indoor Table Curling, Putting, Balls in a basket, Jenga, Connect 4 with
Leven Rotary with President Bob McCulloch participating. In great form especially
Julie Brownlie and SVP Ray Valente winning all their games. Leven winning
convincingly with 28 points from a possible 36 points, Glenrothes 2nd, Perth
3rd and Cowdenbeath in 4th spot, Great night of fellowship and good food
supplied by the Gilvenbank Hotel. The Glenrothes team was President Ewen
Macdonald, IPP Anne Sampson, Wilna Roger, May Ford and Brian and Kay Johnson.
The Vintage afternoon tea being held at the CISWO on Sunday afternoon 27th October 2-5pm is now sold out with a waiting list in the event of call offs, with the proceeds from the event going to The Fife Breathe Easy Charity and other Rotary charities. The tea is being provided by Kirkcaldy Rotarian Sharon Munro who owns the New York Sandwich place at the harbour Kirkcaldy, entertainment by OneHeart who are all members of GAMA, will perform songs form the musicals

Anne Sampson’s Past Presidents Dinner will take place at the Balgeddie Hotel this Friday 18th October 2019.
The annual peace walk will take place on Thursday 7th November 2019.
Our REYA fundraising night will take place on Monday 25th November 2019.
Our Santa Collection at ASDA will take place on Saturday 14th December 2019.
The annual Swimarathon fundraiser will take place on 1st March 2020
RYLA, mock interviews and Mentoring in the schools were all discussed.
This coming week’s meeting on Thursday 17th October 2019 will be a lunch time meeting to be held at the Gilvenbank Hotel. please meet 12.45pm for a prompt 12.55pm start. Our speaker this week will be Brian Johnson talking about Foundation sustaining membership.
