Excitement of Science 2020

Wed, Feb 26th 2020 at 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm

This year the title of the lecture is 'The hunt for aliens and their worlds' and will be delivered by astrophysicist Dr Eamonn Kerins, from Jodrell Bank. Eamonn has delivered many lectures to this age group Y9/10 and makes his subject really accessible.

Clubs are asked to approach any school that they wish to invite and determine the number of places required. The lecture is aimed at top set Y9/10 pupils who may be considering the single sciences or need inspiring to consider science or engineering at University. The maximum number of places per school is limited to 30 but requests usually come quite quickly so I will again have to assign places on a first come first served basis. Some clubs offer to help by meeting coach transport costs others provide additional supervision using Club members and some do both, its the Clubs decision.

The University provides the lecture theatre and facilities free of charge as well as the lecturer's time.

Green costumes for Rotarians attending the lecture are optional!

Many thanks for all your support in helping make this event attract increasing numbers of pupils over the last six years.
