Rotary Club of Birstall Luddites
Santa Christmas 2019
Once again Santa and Santas helper Ian took to the streets of Birstall and Batley raising
money for local charities.
The Santa Sleigh is Birstall Luddites main fund raising event.
Rotarians form teams of 8 for each street collection with Birstall in Bloomers kindly helping fill rota gaps

Santas early outing was to feature in the Birstall lights switch on in Birstall Market place, Santa assisted by Mrs Santa (Joanna) was surrounded by children waiting to talk to Santa..    
Hillhead,  Moat Hill, Woodlands, Greenacres and Foxglove , Millers Croft and the last street collect at and
around St Thomas Church.
 Only the first collection on Hillhead we had a bad rainy evening all other dry but very cold. 
   Tesco superstore in Batley hosted Santa on Fri and Sat on the weekend prior to Christmas.
Santa made visits to Fairfield Special School giving pupils Christmas gifts. Santa gave presents to
children at the RVS Party where Rotarians helped with the party     
Additional outings to Birstall schools and Mill street street party
. makes the total outing made by Ian to 19 for 2019.
Thanks to all  the Santas 
Big big thanks to Ian for organising the rotas and driving Santa.
Also big thanks to Sleigh Engineer Bill for the sleigh maintenance.
