Mayflower 400

Thu, Nov 28th 2019 at 6:30 pm - 6:30 pm

George English will talk to us about the 400th Anniversary of the Mayflower on Thursday 28th November.

The Mayflower

In 1620, the Mayflower sailed to the New World with 102 passengers, arriving in November. 28 November is also Thanksgiving Day, first celebrated by the Pilgrims in Autumn 1621 to give thanks for a good harvest and their survival.

George English will talk to us about the Mayflower and its passengers; the events over the previous 100+ years that led up to the voyage; and what followed.

Over the next 12 months, many events are planned in UK, USA and elsewhere - see 'Mayflower 400' at mayflower400uk.org.
