Cub weekly Zoom meting

This week our meeting will be held using the Zoom website.
We will be joined by Dennis Stevens our District Governor. Out incoming President Rotarian David Pike will be outlining his intentions for the next year


11 members enjoyed a meeting by Zoom.  Our District Governor, Dennis Stevens, spoke on Rotary activities in the 1200 district as well as Rotary International.  Polio Plus, a prominant Rotary venture was featured.  Polio has nearly been eradicated worldwide but is resurging in poorer countries.  Rotary has played a pivotal role in the fight against this dreadful disease.  

Dennis also spoke on the importance of growing Rotary membership and thenstyle of membership.  FUN!  Fellowship, Udating rotary, New clubs.  We must endeavour to attract young prospective members to ensure the growth of Rotary.

Our incoming President, David Pike , spoke on the coming year's activities.  These will be heavily influenced by the Covid-19 restrictions but we hope to carry on in as far as we can.

The upcoming activities/events are:

Imber Ultra - planned for March 2012, ICE evening planned for 21 Nov 2020 - format to be decided on later as Covid-19 will effect this event heavily, School's Xmas Carol concert =- planned fpr early Dec 2020 but again subject to distancing restrictions, Kida out 2021 - planned fopr June 2021 but this will again be influenced by distancing and lastly we are planning on planting miore crocus corms to highlight Polio Plus - the location for the crocus planting will ne decided later.
