Frame Football

Frame Football was the subject when John Cheetham visited the latest meeting of Rotary Club of Hucknall

John had been the chairman for the last 1 and ½ years of Rolls Royce Junior Football Club running 26 teams involving over 260 children. John spoke a little about his footballing pedigree and how his coaching career had developed.

A recent development was getting involved in the coaching of Hucknall’s pioneering Rolls-Royce Leisure frame football team, which offers a unique version of football for children who need to use walker-style frames.
The team was set up by Jamie Broughton and Caroline Scothern.
Frame football was founded by Richard Seedhouse, who is based in Coventry, and it has gone from strength to strength all over the UK, with other countries now also taking an interest.
In fact, the Rolls-Royce team is currently the largest of its kind in the whole world for the number of players on its books and its total of 15 was increased by two last weekend.
The team plays on an artificial pitch because it is more suitable for them than grass. During the winter, players are training indoors at Kimberley Leisure Centre.
