For a considerable number of years now, the Rotary Club of Hythe has always been present in the High Street during the Festive Season by collecting monies from the public all for the benefit of local charities concerned, come rain, storm or snow. Hythe Rotary’s presence has always been accompanied by festive music being played and a well lit up Christmas tree outside The Town Hall in the High Street. We have also on occasions shown a presence in some of the local supermarkets. Throughout this time of collecting, we usually raise good sums of cash for our local charities.
Sadly, as aresult of Covid-19, we simply are not allowed to do anymore street collections of any form until further notice. We therefore need to find another alternative as we really would like to support local charities at this time of the year, as we have always done so in the past.
