Giving!

Immediate Past President Ben hands over cheques

Giving is a very important part of what we do, and the Club typically donates over £25k annually to charitable causes, much from our own members, but we also enjoy great support from local people and businesses.

For their personal Appeal, Presidents often select favourite charities.  Last year’s were all very local – charities with whom we and last year’s President Ben Robinson (second left) have long-standing relationships.  The photo shows him handing over cheques for £645 each for Burton Addiction Centre*, Burton YMCA* and Burton Albion Community Trust*.

* Burton Addiction Centre plays a vital role in breaking the cycle of addiction and offering people a pathway into a better life. Since 1998 it has provided drug and alcohol rehabilitation for hundreds of people.

Burton YMCA provides a supportive and safe environment for people who those who are homeless, as well as food parcels for those in need, low-cost affordable items for homes and counselling services.

Burton Albion Community Trust is the charitable arm of Burton Albion Football Club, active in the fields of education, health and wellbeing, disability and employability. The charity’s pandemic response included the setting up and running of the Pirelli Stadium Vaccination Centre where over 500,000 life-saving covid jabs have been administered.
