Kilmarnock Rotary Club

Tue, Nov 7th 2023 at 8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

presented by George English, President

Kilmarnock Rotary Club has been our “parent” Club since we were chartered in 2020, and we were a satellite of theirs for a few years previously. The late Iain Shaw was a key member of both Clubs. Current President George will share some of the experiences of his career, and life as a Rotarian. He will explore opportunities for Kilmarnock Rotary and us to work together and assist each other at events etc.

George English is President of Kilmarnock Rotary Club and has had a varied and interesting career. Having studied Social Science at St Andrews University, he worked as an accountant with Coats Patons in India, Chile and UK. George then became a management consultant, successfully working as a senior executive with people at all levels in a wide range of organisations, developing excellent people, problem solving and communication skills. He loves travel and has visited all 5 continents.

George joined Kilmarnock Rotary in 2011 and has been Chair of the Community/Vocational/Youth, International and Foundation, and Club Management teams, as well as Secretary. When he retired, George qualified as a genealogist and is now Director of his own Family History service, Research Through People.
