| The 2011 Conference was held in Pitlochry from 30th September to 2nd October. The Keynote Speakers were Dame Elish Angiolini DBE, QC and Dr Frank Dick OBE |
The district barbecue was a real high point. The turnout was exceptional with over 140 people there. It was a very relaxed and informal occasion where Burman got a chance to chat to Rotarians. It also happened to be District Governor Roberta's birthday ! |
| The highlight in July was the RIBI presidential visit of Ray Burman and his wife Victoria. They had an inspiring visit with John McLaughlin (the Govan President)and visited Erskine, Paisley & Dunoon Clubs as well as attending the District BBQ. |
This July saw the Tall Ships Race come to Greenock. As part of the various displays onsite at the harbour, Gourock Rotary along with help from Greenock Rotary and various other clubs in the District organised a Rotary Exhibition. |
| On Wednesday 29th June, the District Handover took place at the Glynhill Hotel, Renfrew. 145 Rotarians, Rotaractors, Interactors and partners from all over the West of Scotland attended the event |

| In an exciting contest, Fiona Joice (sponsored by Eastwood Rotary) won the Vocal section and Gregor Keachie (sponsored by Kilmarnock Rotary) won the Instrumental section. Both now go forward to the Scottish Regional Final later in March. |
As part of the Thanks for Life week activities, a District Polio Fundraiser was held in conjunction with UCare Foundation at the Kabana Restaurant in Glasgow. Approximately £3000 was raised towards Polio Eradication |
