Young Citizens Awards 2010The Nessie Club, nominated by the Rotary Club of Frodsham and Helsby, were one of the deserving winners of the five Young Citizens Awards made at the recent Rotary National Conference in Bournemouth. The awards, now in their fourth year, are awarded by Rotary and broadcast live on the BBC News channel. Konnie Huq, from the BBC, said "This project was set up 9 years ago to help disadvantaged young people in Cheshire. They go out of their way to help others and they are helping children thousands of miles away in Ghana." |

Television presenter Konnie Huq recently visited India with Rotary volunteers and took part in the National Immunisation Day, delivering polio vaccine alongside our volunteers. She produced a short film for the BBC and was interviewed on the Breakfast programme on Sunday 22nd November. Take a few minutes to read her report and look at her film, it shows why polio eradication is so important and the major effort for Rotary across the world. |

On Friday 16th July Immediate Past District Governor Elizabeth Tatman was awarded an Honorary Doctorate of the University of Bolton in recognition of her charitable work and especially her work in Romania |
