The Rotary Club of Horsham - Club of the Month
Pudsey Bear accompanied by Children's TV Star Dave Benson Phillips and a wonderful variety of large mascot 'pals' stormed Horsham's Carfax Bandstand on Sunday November 6 to raise money for Children in Need, to the delight of hundreds of local children and their parents.
The twenty odd motley creatures included Horsham's very own Ringo the Dragon, Daisy…the extremely lovable cow from this year's Capitol Pantomime, Horsham Football Club's Howie the Hornet, More Than's Green Horse, Southern Water's Mr. Drink-It , three wonderful Mascots from the Children's Trust, Giraffe's Giddy Giraffe, Mr Simms Jelly Belly and a number of football club mascots including those from Crawley, Wimbledon and Basingstoke..jpg)
The whole event was organised by The Rotary Club of Horsham (Rotary is a national partner of the BBC's charity) with superb assistance from Horsham District Council, Horsham Markets and many other local groups. A number of primary schools had also encouraged their children to draw and paint pictures of Pudsey which were displayed around the Carfax.... thanks to Holy Trinity Lower Beeding, St Andrews Nuthurst, Heron Way, St Marys and Southwater Junior Academy for participating and earning a special photocall with Pudsey. A BBC crew were on hand to film part of the proceedings and it is hoped that the Horsham party will be featured in the November 18 broadcast.
