Reindeer Parade

Sat, Dec 2nd 2006 at 12:00 am - 2:00 am

Saturday 2nd December, Peascod Street, 2pm With LIVE! reindeer and Santa on a sleigh, this is a must see event. Come along and have your photo taken with Santa on his sleigh before he and his reindeer return to Lapland.

This event is organised by the Windsor & Eton Town Partnership each year.

The reindeer come from the only herd in the UK. Reindeer were re-introduced into Scotland in 1952 by a Swedish Reindeer Herder, Mikel Utsi. Starting from a few reindeer, the herd has grown in numbers over the years and is currently held at between 130 and 150 by controlling breeding. Living in their natural environment out on the Cairngorm Mountains and the Cromdale Hills, teams of reaindeer happily visit town centres across the UK at Xmas time.
