The Handover Dinner at the Novotel Southampton on July 1st
Caroline Millman formally took over at the District Govenor for Rotary Wessex at a special dinner in Southampton.
In addition to appointing her team for the Rotary Year 2011 - 2012 Caroline outlined her plans to raise the profile of Rotary in the District. Initially this would involve her in absailing down the Spinnaker Tower in Portsmouth which should make a real splash (or splat!).
She thanked those members of the District team who were retiring this year and wished several of them well in their new roles in their clubs and beyond.
Caroline also introduced her companion Jofli - a small purposeful brown bear - who appears to enjoy a glass of wine. Caroline promised that Jofli (Joy of Life) will accomany her on her travels throughout the year and keep tabs on her progress.
Earlier in the evening retiring District Governor Ian Legge presented Ron Emmit with a Paul Harris Fellowship award in recognition of his 5 years as District Treasurer.
