ROTARY YOUTH SPEAKS 2010/2011

Following the many very successful Youth Speaks competitions, starting with club events, followed by ' second rounds', (  22 teams came through to  second round competitions, held at Hounslow, New Malden and Camberley ) the District Final was held at Rushmoor Borough Council Chambers, Farnborough.  In attendance, along with many tutors, parents and other Rotary supporters, we welcomed the Mayor and Mayoress of Rushmoor, Councillor and Mrs Brian Parker, with our District Governor Keith Waller. ( the very high support and attendance at this competition reminds us that for a District Final we must ensure a venue with capacity to accommodate in excess of 150/200 supporters).

We had eight outstanding teams finalists, competing from, schools (Intermediate level): Thomas More, Hinchley Wood, Hawley Place, St George's College: (Senior level)  Matthew Arnold School,

St George's College, Tiffin Girls, Notre Dame.

After a very difficult task our adjudicators declared Thomas More School, Intermediate winners
