As part of the annual Rotary Kids Out event in Cambridgeshire the Cambridge South Club sponsors the entertainment of a group of disadvantaged children from the Castle Special School in Cambridge. Other special Schools join in too. This is a fun-packed day at Wimpole Hall and Farm, with a tour of the farm animals, lunch and a range of open-air activities, such as Bouncy Castles, Face Painting, Entertainers and much more. The Wimpole team prepare a field for the day and ensure access throughout the site for wheelchairs etc. Everyone involved was deeply disappointed this year when the soggy weather meant the field could not be mown and became water-logged and muddy and the very popular event had to be cancelled. It is hoped alternative plans can be put in place.
